We recommend that you carefully go through our Terms of Use, to better understand the different features of our service. By subscribing to the registration process at The Book Buzz, Members accept all items in the Terms of Use and agree to abide by and be legally bound by the Terms of Use.

1. Eligibility

Any individual who submits a fully complete application form for membership with a) address proof of residence / work b) mobile phone number & proof of billing address and c) communicable email address is welcome to sign up with The Book Buzz library. However, The Book Buzz reserves the right to accept or reject membership at its sole discretion. Membership is for personal use only. It cannot be transferred to any other individual’s name. No member may re-lend books borrowed from The Book Buzz at any time. Doing so will entail automatic cancellation of membership.

2. Plans & Payment terms

By subscribing to a specific membership plan of The Book Buzz, the member is explicitly agreeing to pay, in advance, Subscription plan amount attached to the plan plus any other applicable fee or tax at the frequency specified by the plan. Any non-compliance with the payment terms in spite of 2 reminders will attract a penalty of 10% per payment period of the amount due and may lead to cancellation of membership.

Unless otherwise stated, all payments to be made through the Site shall be made using Net Banking, Online payment or Cash on Delivery and shall be made in accordance with such procedures as we may from time to time specify. Payments may be made via iBanking, CCAavenue and through the use of internationally accepted credit cards which include VISA, MASTERCARD, and AMERICAN EXPRESS. Digital coupons will be issued with their own set of conditions stated therein and which are specific to each digital coupon. Gift cards / vouchers / reward points are not exchangeable for cash and unutilized amounts will not be refunded.

3. Subscription Plan Refund

We do not provide any refund for the Subscription Plans. However in the below mentioned cases we will refund the amount deducted: Any transaction done due to system error OR Subscription not confirmed but amount deducted. All refunds will be made to your respective bank A/C number

4. Ordering of Books

All book related orders submitted to Thebookbuzz.in through the Site are subject to our acceptance. The transaction between you and Thebookbuzz.in in respect of the Books ordered will be deemed completed upon delivery of the said Books. Until such time, we reserve the right to reject your Order without providing any reason. Thebookbuzz.in shall be entitled to cancel or terminate the obligations to fulfill any order, for any reason whatsoever, including shortage of Books even after a Booking Order is confirmed, with or without notice and we shall not be liable for any loss and damage to any party for such termination or cancellation. In such event, we shall reimburse to you in the form of a Service addition or Plan Extension.

5. Reading period

The Book Buzz proposes a reasonable reading period with a restriction on the number of books that a member can hold at any point in time. Every member must return/ exchange the book in the stipulated time period. The Book Buzz reserves the right to contact and request members holding book/s to be returned. Members are requested to update their contact details periodically when changed.

6. Lost or Damaged books

At The Book Buzz, we take utmost care to maintain books in good condition. However, the displayed image and the quality and condition may differ. Any anomaly (unprinted pages) or damage if found should be reported to the delivery executive when the book is delivered at the door. Failure to check and/or report the same will be constituted as if the member has received the book/s in good condition. As soon as the book is returned to the library it will be checked for any damage of book(s) and reported to the member accordingly. The determination of a book being “damaged” will be at the sole discretion of The Book Buzz. Members can choose to replace a lost or damaged book within 14 days or pay the market price of the book, amount determined by The Book Buzz. If the book is not available in India, we will then convert the US Dollars into Rupees and determine the amount. The damage policy is detailed below.

NATURE OF DAMAGE - AMOUNT THE MEMBER HAS TO PAY
If the book is lost/ majorly damaged - Market price of the book
Scribbling /minor tear - Rs. 50
Spinal damage or torn page - 60% of the cost of the book.

7. Refundable Deposit

Upon expiry of membership, The Book Buzz sends reminders over emails/sms to its members for renewal of the subscription or collection of the refundable deposit. Three months after expiry of the membership The Book Buzz reserves the right to classify the account as ‘Dormant’ and initiate steps to recover any unpaid damage fee or lost book cost from the refundable deposit. Post that, any excess deposit left in the account will be retained as “Unclaimed” refundable deposit for a period of another 3 months and periodic reminders would be sent to the member to claim the same. After 6 months of expiry of membership, The Book Buzz reserves the right to treat the member as “not reachable” and take appropriate action on the unclaimed refundable deposit if there has been no response from the member on the reminder communications.

8. Definition of a BOOK

It is important to note that each title catalogued in The Book Buzz gets the same treatments irrespective of size, cost & target reader.

9. Temporary suspension of membership

Through a feature called “Pause”, The Book Buzz allows the member to pause the membership (temporary suspension), for a duration of 1 week, 2 weeks or 4 weeks for the Quarterly, Half Yearly and Yearly plan respectively, before expiration of membership. During Subscription Holiday period, a member will not be able to use the library. To activate this feature a member can click the “Pause” tab in the ‘My Account’ section or inform us via email/phone call. All issued books should be returned to the The Book Buzz before the start date of Subscription Holiday.

10. Changes to Terms of Use

The Book Buzz reserves the right, from time to time, with or without notice, to change these Terms of Use in its sole and absolute discretion. If any changes were made by The Book Buzz, you will only notify via an information bar at the top right hand corner of the page after you log in to the account. Each time you see the notification, you should visit and review the then current Terms OF USE and PRIVACY POLICY that apply to your online transactions and use of the Site The most current version of these Terms of Use can be reviewed by clicking on the “Terms of Use” located at the bottom of the pages of the TheBookBuzz.in website. The most current version of the Terms of Use will supersede all previous versions.. If you are dissatisfied with the Site, its Content or do not accept the Terms of use, please discontinue your use of the Site. Your continued use of our service after changes are made means that you agree to be bound by such changes.

11. Data Security Policy

At The Book Buzz, protecting your information is a priority. To prevent unauthorized access and maintain data accuracy, we have put in place appropriate procedures to safeguard and secure the information we collect online. Information provided by a member, while signing up to The Book Buzz services, such as identification and contact details, will be for the exclusive use of The Book Buzz. The Book Buzz may use this information to send regular communications about service related, third party source or any other relevant information. The Book Buzz uses the information collected from you to provide you with access to our services and services from our affiliates and to monitor your use of such services. Please refer to the PRIVACY POLICY for more details on the collection, use and protection of personal information.
